“Challenges and Opportunities in Mongolia's Electric Power Industry”
Mongolia is known for its abundant mineral resources, but it is also rich in power generation sources, particularly wind, solar, and thermal. It has the potential to not only supply domestic demand, but to also play a significant role as an energy producer in the region. In recent years, there have been growing interest in this sector by foreign companies and investors, who have recognized a valuable opportunity. Yet, the country lacks adequate infrastructure to produce and transport energy, creating an obstacle for fulfilling its potential.
This year’s Mongolian Young Leaders Program (YLP), to be held in Chicago, IL on May 19-20, 2017 will explore the challenges and opportunities facing Mongolia in becoming a regional energy player and lifting the living standards of the population. We are looking for young leaders and talented individuals who want to share their expertise and opinions on this year’s theme with other like-minded people.This is a great opportunity to network with other young leaders, learn more about the electric power industry of Mongolia from our keynote speakers, and engage in team building activities! The participants to YLP-2017 will be eligible for membership to the Mongolian Young Leaders Network - community of more than 100 young professionals from diverse sectors.
