The 10th Mongolian Young Leaders Program

The tenth MYLP was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia under the topic of “Energy and Power: Road to Sustainable Future” on 25-26th January 2019. The program commenced with a speaker series which included professionals and academics in the energy sector. The participants had the opportunity to discuss and share their views and ideas with these leaders in their respective fields. Next was a highly productive panel discussion moderated by one of our MYLN members. The panel also comprised of professionals in the energy sector and the participants were able to learn from their differing perspectives. Mark Koenig, the Country Representative of the Asia Foundation, our main sponsor, visited the participants during the program and shared Asia Foundation’s vision for Mongolia. Discussions of the possible collaboration between MYLP and Asia Foundation also took place. After the discussions and presentations from the speakers, the participants got to apply their learnings to practical problems by attending a workshop where they had to come up with a pitch idea for the Green Climate Fund. For the second day of the program, the participants went on a site tour of Salkhit Wind Park and learned more about the project. The program concluded with a post program networking event involving all speakers, sponsors and participants. The participants were able to reflect on the program and share their experiences.
